GCSE Child Development - Family resources
PowerPoint presentation with types of family. Idea behind this lesson was for pupils to work in groups, using the statements provided (Word Document), identify advantages and disadvantages of each type of family. statements can be used more than once. I finished the lesson of with looking at the function of a family through Maslow's Pyramid (on PowerPoint), pupils again worked in groups and wrote their ideas around a blank pyramid.

Introduction to intellectual development
The set resources looks at intellectual development and introduces Piaget's Theory of cognitive development. There is a clip which I use alongside the worksheet and a PowerPoint Presentation with starter and plenary. I've also included flash cards for the stages of learning to read (need to be folded down the middle, glued and cut up).

Learning objectives:

To know and understand how hospitality and catering provision adapts to satisfy media interest and influence.
To know and understand how awareness of competition from other providers affects hospitality and catering provision.
To know and understand how environmental concerns, and seasonality impact hospitality and catering provision.
Resource includes PowerPoint presentation with starter and plenary activities. The slides cover trends in the hospitality an catering industry, and seasonality.
There is an activity for pupils to design a menu (will require the internet to research seasonal ingredients and to look at an existing menu).
There is also an information shet and questions based on social media influence.
